Issued M47 Parka

An item with this much character is hard to come by, even in the world of surplus. This issued M47 Parka has been through it; the parka is covered in holes that have been lovingly repaired alongside numerous patches of additional fabric to reinforce it.
The only defect is a small hole on the inside liner (it doesn't go all the way through), and the fact that the two buttons for the liner are missing. The liner is not included.

This parka is an incredible piece of history and is an often forgotten step in the evolution of US cold weather adaptation.

The History:

The cold and wet conditions of the Korean War necessitated ample use of cold weather gear. Today, many associate the M51 Fishtail Parka with the conflict, but it wouldn't actually reach the peninsula in force before the end of hostilities in 1953. For much of the war, it was the M47 Parka, or "overcoat, parka type, with pile liner," holding the line and enduring the conditions of Korea. It is longer and more substantial in the lower front at the cost of being less maneuverable than the later 51.
