Grade 2 "Soviet" Wool Prop Shirts
Nine out of ten Wolverines would not recommend this jacket.
This is a Grade 2 listing, all products listed here will have defects including but not limited to missing buttons and features, tears or holes. We do not accept returns on Grade 2 items for condition.
When film studios needed to cast Soviet baddies, they had to get resourceful. These are early sixties Bundeswehr uniforms rebadged and buttoned to resemble Soviet M69 field dress. While these pieces are identical to the props used in Red Dawn, the items listed here came from Costume Rentals Corp; Sony seems to be marked on pieces actually used for the film.
No matter their provenance, these props were once authentic Cold War surplus that became a tangible piece of that very era's propaganda. German jackets issued during the Berlin Crisis evolved to Hollywood garb for American fantasy.
